Dr. Nick Young
Dr. Young's path to physical therapy grew out of his kinesiology studies and his own competitive athletic background. Fascinated by how the body adapts, breaks down, and recovers, he was drawn to a career where he could help athletes overcome setbacks and get back to performing at their highest level.
Dr. Young earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas Tech University in 2021, then his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in December 2023. He went on to complete a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the University of North Dakota, where he designed return-to-sport treatment plans for NCAA Division I athletes and received mentorship in navigating a Division I athletic training room and outpatient clinic.

Dr. Young is a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). At ActiveTherapy, he works with clients across the lifespan to optimize their return to sport and activity, leading a mix of individual and small-group sessions built around strategic periodization tailored to each patient's personal goals.
Dr. Young is dedicated to the learner's mentality — currently pursuing a PhD in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Baylor, teaching the next generation of clinicians, and staying active in the APTA, AASPT, and NSCA. He's committed to lifelong growth in his field so he can keep helping athletes of every age stay in the game. Fun Fact - His wife, Maddie, is also a PT!
